Liverpool’s forward sensation Mohamed Salah is poised to make a comeback to action as he returns to full training, announced Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. Salah, who had been sidelined for a month due to a hamstring injury sustained while playing for Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, is now in contention for Saturday’s match against Brentford.

However, Liverpool’s goalkeeping department faces a setback as Alisson Becker has been ruled out of the upcoming match after picking up an injury during training. The Brazilian international did not join the squad in their trip to London, opting to remain in the north-west for further medical assessment.

With Alisson unavailable, Liverpool will turn to Caoimhin Kelleher to deputize in goal. On a positive note, Klopp confirmed the availability of Joe Gomez and Conor Bradley for selection. Nevertheless, Thiago Alcantara and Trent Alexander-Arnold remain sidelined.

Addressing concerns about Alexander-Arnold’s injury history, Klopp rebutted suggestions of premature returns, stating, “We never forced anybody back. We always try to catch the earliest moment [when you can bring a player back]. When we catch that moment, no one speaks about it.” Despite Klopp’s reassurances, Alexander-Arnold will miss the Brentford clash and the upcoming Carabao Cup final against Chelsea on February 25.
