Since the inception of yellow and red cards in the 1970 World Cup, this new addition aims to reshape the sport, acting as a tool to combat cynical fouls and dissent toward match officials.

The blue card signifies a player’s temporary removal from the game for a period of 10 minutes, following any cynical foul or dissent deemed detrimental to the flow of play or fair competition.
