WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) is a major player in the wrestling world, raking in over $1 billion in annual revenue. The company has been a dominant force in wrestling for decades, making it a household name in the U.S. and many other countries. However, even industry leaders need to explore new opportunities for revenue.

This week, WWE achieved its first hit song in the U.K. The track is not credited to WWE itself but to an “artist” developed by the company. This marks WWE’s entry into a new area of commercial success previously uncharted by the wrestling giant.

WWE’s First Music Hit

The new act, Def Rebel, releases the single “WWE – I Am Greatness (Roman Reigns)” and it makes a splash on two charts in the U.K. While the song is a modest hit, it suggests the start of a promising new chapter for WWE.

“I Am Greatness (Roman Reigns)” debuts highest on the Official Singles Downloads chart, entering at No. 83. It also performs similarly on the Official Singles Sales chart, starting at No. 88, which tracks all types of individual song purchases in the U.K.

Roman Reigns’ Anthem

The song is the theme for Roman Reigns, one of wrestling’s top stars, which likely contributed to Def Rebel’s successful debut. WWE created Def Rebel to produce tracks for its biggest stars as they enter the arena. The artist, or whatever you may call Def Rebel, has been in development since at least 2020 when WWE trademarked the name.
