2008 – MS Dhoni to Chennai Super Kings for 9.5 Crore
In the inaugural player auction, CSK bought captain MS Dhoni for 9.5 crore, the highest bid that year.
2009 – Kevin Pietersen to RCB and Andrew Flintoff to CSK for 9.8 Crore Each

Indian opener Gautam Gambhir was bought by KKR for 14.9 crore, the highest that year.
