“The confirmation of this tour comes after productive discussions between ZC and the BCCI, with the primary objective of fortifying bilateral ties and fostering a spirit of collaboration between the two cricketing boards,” ZC Chairman Mr Tavengwa Mukuhlanisaid in a statement.

ZC Chairman Mr Tavengwa Mukuhlani said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be hosting India for a T20I series in July in what will be our biggest international attraction at home this year.

For Zimbabwe, the series presents an invaluable opportunity to showcase their mettle against one of cricket’s powerhouses, albeit in the absence of a T20 World Cup berth. Nevertheless, the prospect of locking horns with India is sure to invigorate Zimbabwean cricket enthusiasts, who eagerly anticipate witnessing their team’s competitive spirit on the field.

With India likely to field a second-string side, the series offers a platform for young and emerging talent to shine and stake their claim for a spot in the national team. As the cricketing fraternity eagerly awaits this enthralling clash, the series is poised to inject a renewed sense of vigor into Zimbabwe Cricket, bolstering its resilience in the face of recent challenges.
