The Women’s PGA Championship 2025 saw a historic moment as Minjee Lee claimed her third major title and 11th LPGA Tour win. The win came af the Fields Ranch East in Frisco, Texas, and not only was it a personal achievement for Lee, but it also put her into an elite group of players. Minjee Lee now shares the position of an elite club by becoming the only Australian to have won three majors alongside Karrie Webb and Jan Stephenson.

Minjee Lee entered the final round with a four-shot lead, but the championship was not an easy affair. It was marked by strong gusts of wind and intense heat, but she managed to maintain her composure throughout. Finally, with three bogeys in four holes on the front nine, she won the Women’s PGA Championship 2025.

Reflecting on the win, Minjee Lee said, “I definitely was nervous starting the day. I wasn’t really sure if it was the heat that was making my heart beat more… but I was not as calm as everybody thinks,”

Her closest Challenger was Jeeno Thitikul, the world number 2; however, she fumbled and lost the position to Chanette Wannasaen. Auston Kim completed the podium and became the only player to finish under par with Lee and Wannasaen.

A Record-Breaking Prize Money

This year’s Women’s PGA Championship 2025 was also significant because it featured a record $12 million purse, matching the U.S. Women’s Open for the largest in women’s golf history. Minjee Lee will take home $1.8 million while Kim and Wannasaen earned $914,169.
