The rivalry seems to be in its final chapter, as the bitter enemies are scheduled to face off in a Hell in a Cell match at the upcoming Bad Blood PLE.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">As we eagerly anticipate this colossal clash, let&#8217;s take a look back at CM Punk&#8217;s journey inside Hell in a Cell throughout his WWE career.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Hell in a Cell 2009: CM Punk vs. The Undertaker</h3>
<figure id="attachment_4858" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-4858" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-4858" src="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2009-CM-Punk-vs.-The-Undertaker.webp" alt="CM Punk’s Hell in a Cell Records: Wins, Losses, and Epic Battles in WWE" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2009-CM-Punk-vs.-The-Undertaker.webp 1200w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2009-CM-Punk-vs.-The-Undertaker-300x169.webp 300w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2009-CM-Punk-vs.-The-Undertaker-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2009-CM-Punk-vs.-The-Undertaker-768x432.webp 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-4858" class="wp-caption-text">Hell in a Cell 2009 CM Punk vs. The Undertaker</figcaption></figure>
<p style="text-align: justify;">CM Punk played one of his toughest matches when he defended his <a href="https://www.wwe.com/classics/titlehistory/world-heavyweight-championship" target="_blank" rel="noopener">World Heavyweight title</a> against The Undertaker in 2009. The Second City Saint tried every tactic to overcome his legendary opponent, but the Deadman, known as &#8220;The Phenom,&#8221; proved too much for him. Despite Punk’s relentless efforts, The Undertaker reclaimed the World Heavyweight title, marking his third and final reign. This match handed Punk his first loss inside the Hell in a Cell structure.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Hell in a Cell 2011: CM Punk vs. John Cena &amp; Alberto Del Rio</h3>
<figure id="attachment_4859" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-4859" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-4859" src="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2011-CM-Punk-vs.-John-Cena-Alberto-Del-Rio.webp" alt="CM Punk’s Hell in a Cell Records: Wins, Losses, and Epic Battles in WWE" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2011-CM-Punk-vs.-John-Cena-Alberto-Del-Rio.webp 1200w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2011-CM-Punk-vs.-John-Cena-Alberto-Del-Rio-300x169.webp 300w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2011-CM-Punk-vs.-John-Cena-Alberto-Del-Rio-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2011-CM-Punk-vs.-John-Cena-Alberto-Del-Rio-768x432.webp 768w" sizes="(max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-4859" class="wp-caption-text">Hell in a Cell 2011 CM Punk vs. John Cena &amp; Alberto Del Rio</figcaption></figure>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Punk found himself once again inside the Hell in a Cell, this time in a triple-threat match for the WWE title in 2011. Going up against John Cena and Alberto Del Rio, the match was filled with fast-paced action, and the Cell only heightened the chaos. Punk endured brutal punishment, including being sent crashing through a table at ringside. As he attempted his signature GTS on Del Rio, the latter caught him off-guard with a lead pipe to secure the win. This marked Punk’s second defeat in the unforgiving Cell.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Hell in a Cell 2012: CM Punk vs. Ryback</h3>
<figure id="attachment_4854" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-4854" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-4854" src="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2012-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback.webp" alt="CM Punk’s Hell in a Cell Records: Wins, Losses, and Epic Battles in WWE" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2012-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback.webp 1200w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2012-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback-300x169.webp 300w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2012-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2012-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback-768x432.webp 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-4854" class="wp-caption-text">Hell in a Cell 2012 CM Punk vs. Ryback</figcaption></figure>
<p style="text-align: justify;">CM Punk returned to the Hell in a Cell in 2012, this time defending his WWE title against Ryback. The powerhouse Ryback was no easy challenge, but Punk, ever the strategist, used everything he could—fire extinguishers, kendo sticks, you name it. The match had a shocking twist when referee Brad Maddox betrayed Ryback with a low blow, allowing Punk to win with a quick roll-up pin. This controversial victory marked Punk&#8217;s first win inside the Hell in a Cell.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Hell in a Cell 2013: CM Punk vs. Ryback &amp; Paul Heyman</h3>
<figure id="attachment_4857" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-4857" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-4857" src="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2013-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback-Paul-Heyman.webp" alt="CM Punk’s Hell in a Cell Records: Wins, Losses, and Epic Battles in WWE" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2013-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback-Paul-Heyman.webp 1200w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2013-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback-Paul-Heyman-300x169.webp 300w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2013-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback-Paul-Heyman-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/Hell-in-a-Cell-2013-CM-Punk-vs.-Ryback-Paul-Heyman-768x432.webp 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-4857" class="wp-caption-text">Hell in a Cell 2013 CM Punk vs. Ryback &amp; Paul Heyman</figcaption></figure>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Punk’s next Hell in a Cell outing came in 2013, where he faced Ryback and his former manager, Paul Heyman, in a two-on-one handicap match. Betrayed by Heyman earlier that year, Punk was determined to exact revenge. He took down Ryback with an elbow drop through a table before climbing to the top of the Cell to confront Heyman. Punk delivered a beating to Heyman with a kendo stick, followed by his finishing move, the GTS, giving him another victory and a sense of redemption.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">CM Punk’s overall Hell in a Cell record</h3>
<figure id="attachment_4855" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-4855" style="width: 1200px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-4855" src="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/CM-Punk-Hell-in-a-Cell-records.webp" alt="CM Punk’s Hell in a Cell Records: Wins, Losses, and Epic Battles in WWE" width="1200" height="675" srcset="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/CM-Punk-Hell-in-a-Cell-records.webp 1200w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/CM-Punk-Hell-in-a-Cell-records-300x169.webp 300w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/CM-Punk-Hell-in-a-Cell-records-1024x576.webp 1024w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/10/CM-Punk-Hell-in-a-Cell-records-768x432.webp 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-4855" class="wp-caption-text">CM Punk Hell in a Cell records</figcaption></figure>
<p style="text-align: justify;">CM Punk holds a 2-2 record in Hell in a Cell match. With two wins and two losses, his experiences inside this dangerous structure have been a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Now, CM Punk is preparing for his final showdown against Drew McIntyre at the 2024 Bad Blood PLE. This match will not only settle their heated rivalry but also determine whether Punk leaves the Hell in a Cell with a winning record.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The excitement surrounding this feud is at an all-time high. Fans can’t wait to see who will have the final word in this epic saga at the Bad Blood PLE.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Veteran wrestling journalist Bill Apter recently discussed John Cena&#8217;s potential final matches in WWE. The superstar is set for a farewell run in 2025.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Earlier this year, Cena appeared at Money in the Bank and shared his plan to retire from wrestling next year. He also announced a final tour with WWE, inviting fans to join him for the journey.</p>
<figure id="attachment_4731" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-4731" style="width: 1500px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-4731" src="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Austin-Theory.webp" alt="John Cena's WWE Farewell: Could Austin Theory Be the Surprise Opponent?" width="1500" height="970" srcset="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Austin-Theory.webp 1500w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Austin-Theory-300x194.webp 300w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Austin-Theory-1024x662.webp 1024w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Austin-Theory-768x497.webp 768w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Austin-Theory-210x136.webp 210w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-4731" class="wp-caption-text">Austin Theory</figcaption></figure>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In a recent Q&amp;A with Wrestlevotes, Apter suggested that Austin Theory might challenge Cena again. Their match at WrestleMania 39 didn’t meet expectations, and Apter believes the two could have another go at it. He mentioned that Theory has grown as a performer, having won multiple championships since their last encounter.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">“This may sound strange, but that match with Austin Theory was a disaster years ago,” Apter said. “Theory is now a much better wrestler. I think it would be exciting to see him call out Cena, saying, ‘That match was terrible, one of the worst in WWE history. Let’s do it again, Cena.’”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">With WWE RAW moving to Netflix next year, it will be intriguing to see when Cena returns to the WWE screen.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">John Cena&#8217;s Retirement Announcement</h3>
<figure id="attachment_4733" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-4733" style="width: 1500px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="size-full wp-image-4733" src="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/John-Cena-1.webp" alt="John Cena's WWE Farewell: Could Austin Theory Be the Surprise Opponent?" width="1500" height="970" srcset="https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/John-Cena-1.webp 1500w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/John-Cena-1-300x194.webp 300w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/John-Cena-1-1024x662.webp 1024w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/John-Cena-1-768x497.webp 768w, https://sportingscroll.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/John-Cena-1-210x136.webp 210w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1500px) 100vw, 1500px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-4733" class="wp-caption-text">John Cena</figcaption></figure>
<p style="text-align: justify;">John Cena one of wrestling’s biggest stars, has announced his retirement plans. Cena, now 47, revealed his farewell tour next year during a surprise appearance at WWE’s Money in the Bank event in Toronto.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">He shared that he would participate in events like the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41. Cena intends to wrestle until the end of 2025, aiming to perform in about 30-40 events.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">“Why am I here?” Cena asked the audience. “Tonight, I officially announce my retirement from WWE.”</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">For the last five years, Cena has been a part-time WWE performer while focusing on his growing acting career. He’s known for playing The Peacemaker in the 2021 <em>Suicide Squad</em> movie and appearing in <em>Fast X</em>.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Since his debut against Kurt Angle in 2002, Cena has been a mainstay in WWE, holding the <a href="https://www.wwe.com/titlehistory/wwe-championship" target="_blank" rel="noopener">WWE Championship</a> 16 times and headlining WrestleMania five times. His final &#8216;Mania main events were in 2012 and 2013, both against The Rock. His most recent match was a loss to Solo Sikoa in November, and he last appeared at WrestleMania 40, confronting The Rock once again.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: justify;">Why is Cena Retiring Now?</h3>
<p style="text-align: justify;">“I approached WWE with this idea, and they thought it was the right time,” Cena said.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Along with his wrestling legacy, Cena has granted over 650 wishes for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. His farewell tour, named “The Last Time is Now John Cena Farewell Tour,” is a tribute to his iconic theme song.</p>
