Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami, who has been grappling with an ankle injury since the World Cup final, is set to embark on a trip to London for consultation with a specialist. The senior pacer, omitted from the initial Test squad against England due to ongoing injury concerns, is expected to extend his absence from the Indian side for at least another month, as per recent reports.

Shami, renowned as the leading wicket-taker in the 2023 ICC World Cup, has undergone an extensive rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. Although initially included in India’s Test squad against South Africa, his participation hinged on his fitness. Unfortunately, the seasoned bowler was withdrawn from the Boxing Day Test in Centurion just a week before its commencement, as his recovery fell short.
