The UEFA Nations League 2024-2025 is set to kick off on September 5, as several nations from across the globe will take part in the competition. 

Defending champions Spain will continue to reinstate its dominating position, having won the Euro 2024 title. 

Under a new format, the UEFA Nations League 2024-2025 will have a total of 54 teams divided into four leagues based on their results in the previous edition. Three leagues A, B and C will contain four groups of four teams each, whereas League D will have two groups of three teams in Nations League 2024-2025 .

How does the new format work? 

Each team in Leagues A, B and C will play six matches in their group, while teams in League D will play four, on home and away basis. 

The League A group winners and runners-up will play in two-legged quarterfinals, with the winners of these games progressing to the final four in Nations League 2024-2025.

The fourth-placed teams in Leagues A and B will be relegated to Leagues B and C respectively. The two lowest-ranked fourth-placed teams in League C will be relegated to League D.

The four group winners in Leagues B and C, and the two group winners in League D, will be automatically promoted to Leagues A, B and C, respectively.
