Enzo Maresca shared his opinion on the home aspect’s display towards Nottingham forest and stated (through the reliable club website):

“In the first 45 minutes, we didn’t concede anything, we controlled the game, we created chances and the performance was very good because you can become frustrated against this kind of team. Compared to Brighton, it was a completely different kind of game so you have to learn how to play.”

“In the first half, it was top. In the second half, we conceded the goal and it became a bit more up and down. But we scored immediately, and I think we were in control,” the Italian manager added.

While asked if he changed into worried about disciplinary trouble in his squad close to the bookings, Maresca stated:

“The team is fighting all together and I don’t think some of them ‘lost their head’. I think all of them were in the game and I was happy with that. Probably there are things we can improve but overall I like the team and the way they are fighting. I like the team, the way they are becoming a team in these kinds of things and I don’t see any problems with that.”

“If you ask me about the team spirit, the way they are fighting together and the way they are doing things together, I am very happy with that,” the former Leicester City boss added.

Following the draw in opposition to Nottingham Forest, Enzo Maresca’s squad at the moment is fourth at the highest quality League desk with 14 points from seven matches.

Cole Palmer gave a dominating performance in a 6-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, netting a glorious lob and setting up all three of Noni Madueke’s goals.

However, the hotel sales have now been reviewed by the Premier League, and the fees were found to be within an acceptable margin to their estimated market values had they been sold to another buyer. Now, the club are confident in complying with PSR regulations in the 2024/25 financial year and the previous seasons.

The statement from Salah came after Liverpool’s thumping 3-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The Egyptian assisted both goals and scored his side’s third in the 56th minute.

“It could be the last time”

Liverpool’s comprehensive win against United and Salah’s brilliant performance were, however, overshadowed by the striker’s statements.

“I had a good summer and had a long time to myself to try to stay positive because as you know it’s my last year at the club, he said”

“Coming into the game, I said it could be the last time (I play here with Liverpool).

Mohamed Salah said he is still yet to make up his mind on his future course of footballing career.

“I just want to enjoy it and I don’t want to think about it. I feel like I’m free to play football and then we’ll see what happens next year.”

Salah’s hints that he might leave the club comes from the fact that his contract with Liverpool expires this summer and the management has not communicated to him regarding a potential renewal.

“No-one at the club has spoken to me about contracts, so I’m just like, ‘OK, I’m playing my last season’ and see what happens at the end of the season.

When asked about Salah’s comments, Liverpool manager Arne Slot said, “It’s a lot of ‘if’. At this moment he is one of ours and I am really happy with him being one of ours and he played really well.”

“I don’t talk about contracts from players but I can talk for hours about how Mo played today.”

In July 2022, Mohammed Salah signed a new three-year deal with the Reds, reportedly making him the highest paid player in the club’s history, at more than £350,000 a week.

Earlier, Liverpool rejected a £150m offer from Saudi club Al-Ittihad for Salah last September.

Last week, the hosts started their title defence with a win, while the visitors lost their first game in the top division.

In the first match of the season, City beat Chelsea 2-0. In the eighteenth minute, Erling Haaland broke the tie, and in the eighteenth minute, former Blues midfielder Mateo Kovacic extended their lead.

Last week, Ipswich hosted Liverpool in their first match of the season. They struggled goalless in the first half, but in the second 45 minutes, they conceded twice in five minutes. Apart from providing an assist to Diogo Jota’s opening goal in the 60th minute, Mohamed Salah also scored in the 65th minute.

Ipswich Town vs. Manchester City Head-to-Head

Of the 66 encounters between the two teams in all competitions, only eight have been in the Premier League. These encounters have been closely contested, with the visitors holding a 28-23 lead in wins and 15 games being drawn.

Seven of their last 12 matches have seen the visitors secure decisive victories and five have been won by the home side. When they last faced each other, City won 4-1 in the FA Cup in 2002.

With ten consecutive wins, Manchester City are undefeated in their last 24 Premier League games.

In five of their last seven encounters with the hosts, Ipswich Town have scored two goals or more.

In 18 league encounters with recently promoted teams, City have won 17 of them.

The home side has won eight of their Premier League encounters (4-2). It is interesting to remember that the visitors won the league double in their last meeting in the competition in 2000–01.

Ipswich Town vs. Manchester City Prediction

In their first home game of the season, the Citizens will try to build on their successful start to the league last week. Their last home loss in the Premier League came in November 2022, and they finished the previous season undefeated.

Savinho is questionable after taking a knock last week and being substituted off at the interval, while Oscar Bobb is still out for the foreseeable future. Pep Guardiola is unlikely to have Rodri available because he missed the first game of the season.

The Tractor Boys’ toughest test of the season will come this week as they take on Liverpool. They only managed two shots on goal, so they will try to break that mark. It is concerning that they have only won once in their last 14 league games.

Six players, including City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who is on loan, are confirmed to be out of the match for Kieran McKenna. Uncertain and up for a late fitness test is Arijanet Muric.

Given the two clubs’ recent performance, City is predicted to win easily, and there is a good chance they will keep a clean sheet as well.

Prediction: Ipswich Town 0-2 Manchester City

Manchester City vs. Ipswich Town betting tips

Tip 1: Result: Manchester City to win

Tip 2: Goals: Over/Under 2 Goals: Over 2 Goals

Tip 3: At least two goals are to be scored in the second half. Yes

Tip 4: Erling Haaland to score or assist any time: Yes

The 2023/24 Premier League season has witnessed some significant rule changes aimed at curbing deliberate time-wasting and foul play, signaling a shift towards a more disciplined approach across the English top flight. With referees adopting a zero-tolerance stance towards players attempting to disrupt the flow of matches, the season has seen a notable increase in yellow and red cards.

Rule Changes

Referees are now cracking down on blatant attempts by players to waste time and impede the progress of the game. Cynical delaying tactics, such as holding up opposition free-kicks, are being met with swift action, with officials aiming to maintain the integrity and pace of matches.

To enforce these new rules, referees are issuing yellow and red cards more frequently, signaling a departure from leniency towards infringements that hinder the game’s natural rhythm. Additionally, increased added time at the end of games is being allocated to compensate for disruptions caused by such actions.

Disciplinary Actions

In the Premier League, yellow cards serve as warnings for infractions, while red cards result in immediate player dismissals. Here’s how the suspension rules work:

Two yellow cards in a match lead to a red card and an instant one-game ban.

A straight red card incurs a three-game ban, with the possibility of additional punishment for violent conduct.

Players accumulating five yellow cards in the first 19 games of the season receive a one-game suspension, while 10 yellow cards before or including the 32nd game result in a two-game ban.

Yellow and Red Card Leaders

Several players have found themselves on the receiving end of disciplinary actions this season, with some accruing notable numbers of yellow and red cards:

Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes, Fulham’s Joao Palhinha, and Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson lead the yellow card tally with nine each.

Sheffield United’s Oliver McBurnie and Tottenham’s Yves Bissouma top the red card count, with two dismissals each.

As the season progresses, adherence to the newly enforced rules will be crucial for players and teams vying for success in the Premier League. The disciplinary measures aim to uphold the spirit of fair play and ensure that matches are decided on the basis of skill and performance rather than unsporting behavior.

Broadcast Information

For fans eager to catch all the action, Premier League matches are broadcasted and streamed across various platforms globally:

In the UK, matches are televised on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, with select games available on Amazon Prime.

USA viewers can tune in to USA Network, Telemundo, or Universo for English and Spanish coverage, with streaming options on Fubo and Peacock.

Canadian fans can access all matches via Fubo’s exclusive streaming service.

Australian viewers can stream matches live and on-demand on Optus Sport.

In India, Star Sports network provides coverage, with English broadcasts on Star Sports Select and regional feeds available on other channels.

With comprehensive coverage and enhanced disciplinary measures, the Premier League continues to captivate audiences worldwide, offering thrilling encounters and intense competition throughout the season.
