When Rohit Sharma’s team plays the Proteas in a two-game Test series that starts on December 26 (Boxing Day) at Centurion, India will aim to win their first Test series ever in South Africa. Captain Rohit, old hitter Virat Kohli, and fast baller Jasprit Bumrah will all be experiencing their first test match after the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 final was lost.
Since 1992–1993, India has gone to the rainbow country but they haven’t won a Test series. In 2010–11, the team almost won three games Test series But in the last game, they only managed a draw.

India beat South Africa in 17 of the 32 test matches. But they could not win against them in other 16 games, making a total of 17-15 for India when playing with their rival team from South Africa. Sachin Tendulkar made the most runs against South Africa’s cricket team, and Anil Kumble got the highest number of wickets from those players. In India vs South Africa, Virat Kohli has scored the most runs among players that are still active. Ashwin has got the most wickets in this match between countries too!
