India Women vs Australia Women, only Test: Indian bowlers set up historic test triumph against dominant Australia

In a historic first, the Indian women’s cricket team defeated Australia by eight wickets in a one-off Test match at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.

Australia was bowled out for 219 runs on day one. India responded strongly with 406 runs in their first innings.

In their second innings, Australia fared better but were still all out for 239 runs, leaving India to chase just 75 runs for victory.

India comfortably reached the target in 18.4 overs with Smriti Mandhana unbeaten on 38 off 61 balls.

The win was a team effort for India. Sneh Rana and Rajeshwari Gayakwad took two wickets each in the first innings. Pooja Vastrakar and Renuka Thakur combined to bowl Australia out in the second.

The historic victory highlights the growing strength and competitiveness of the Indian women’s cricket team.
