PGA TOUR University Alumni Secure Guaranteed Starts on 2024 Korn Ferry Tour
The conclusion of the PGA TOUR Q-School’s final round on Monday marked a significant moment for PGA TOUR University alumni as three of them clinched guaranteed starts for the upcoming 2024 Korn Ferry Tour season. Out of the 18 alumni who participated in the Final Stage, nine now have the assurance of at least 12 starts on the Korn Ferry Tour next season.
The “Next 40 and Ties” category at the Final Stage of PGA TOUR Q-School witnessed the impressive performances of five alumni securing notable positions. Fred Biondi (T10), Noah Goodwin (T14), Ross Steelman (T28), Ricky Castillo (T28), and Quade Cummins (T45) showcased their talents during the competition.
Fred Biondi, in particular, displayed a strong performance, positioning himself as a contender for the coveted PGA TOUR cards awarded to the top five finishers and ties at PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry. The 23-year-old Brazilian golfer’s remarkable 2-under 33 on the front nine, coupled with birdies on two of the first three holes on the back nine of Dye’s Valley Course, brought him to an impressive 7-under par for the tournament. Despite encountering bogeys at the par-4 13th and 17th, Biondi fell just three strokes short of the top five.
Having secured positions in the top 25 players and ties within the “Next 40 and Ties” category, Biondi, along with Goodwin and Steelman, has now earned guaranteed starts for the initial 12 events of the 2024 Korn Ferry Tour season. This accomplishment marks a significant step forward in their professional golf journeys.
