In a positive development for Sri Lanka Cricket, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has decided to lift the suspension imposed on November 10. The suspension was a consequence of political interference, leading to Sri Lanka losing the hosting rights for the ICC U19 World Cup and casting doubts on their participation in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
After two months of scrutiny, the ICC Board is now satisfied with the reforms made by Sri Lanka Cricket to address the concerns. In a statement, the ICC affirmed, “The ICC Board has been monitoring the situation since the suspension and are now satisfied that SLC are no longer in breach of membership obligations.”
