In the frenetic world of T20 cricket, where every delivery counts, bowlers strive to keep runs tight and take wickets. However, there are moments when things don’t go as planned, resulting in records that no bowler wants to own.

Bangalore’s Harshal Patel recently found himself on the wrong end of T20 history as he equaled Prasanth Parameswaran’s 2011 record for the most expensive over in T20 cricket. His final over against Chennai turned into a nightmare, leaking a whopping 37 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja was the tormentor-in-chief as he mercilessly punished Patel, smashing him for four consecutive sixes, including one off a no-ball, along with a boundary and a couple. This onslaught propelled Chennai to a formidable total in the Indian T20 League clash.

Joining Patel and Parameswaran in the unwanted record books are Daniel Sams, Parvinder Awana, and Ravi Bopara, all of whom have conceded over 30 runs in an over in the Indian T20 League.

T20I Expensive Overs
In T20 internationals, Stuart Broad and Akila Dananjaya hold the record for conceding 36 runs in an over, with Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard famously smashing six sixes in an over each.

Shivam Dube’s Struggles
Even Indian bowlers haven’t been spared from the agony of expensive overs. Shivam Dube’s 34-run over to New Zealand in 2020 stands as a testament to the unpredictability of the game.
