Lakshya Sen has emerged as a rising badminton star of India. He has become the poster boy of men’s badminton in the country.
At a very young age, Sen was introduced to badminton. His father DK Sen is a coach in India. After receiving formal training, he showed his talent at several occasions and won many medals in junior championships.
He got his first international fame when he won a bronze medal at the 2016 Asian Junior Championships in boys’ singles.
The young latent then upgraded the medal to Gold in 2018 Asian Junior Championships in Jakarta.
From his becoming a former junior world no.1 to highest ranking of 6 in men’s single (8 November 2022), Sen has come a long way to establish himself as an accomplished shuttler.
Sen is currently ranked at no. 14 by the Badminton World Federation. The Indian badminton player is set to represent the country at the Paris Olympics 2024 that starts on July 26. 2018 Asian Junior Championships
Lakshya Sen won a gold medal at the Asian Junior Championships in 2018. He met junior world champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn from Thailand in the final.
In what was a fiercely contested battle, Sen managed to pull off 21-19, 21-18 to secure his first championship title.
World Championships 2021 Huelva
Sen made his debut at the world championships in 2021 in Heluva in Spain. The Indian shuttler who was unseeded then went down to former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth in the semi-finals.
Before reaching the semis, Sen defeated 15 seeded Kenta Nishimoto, Tokyo Olympics semi-finalist Kevin Cordon and Asian medallist Zhao Jun Peng to reach the semis.

Commonwealth Games 2022 Birmingham
The starlet of Indian badminton won a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022. He beat Ng Tze Yong of Malaysia 19-21, 21-9, 21-16 in the final to win his maiden in the men’s singles.
